Not sure what you have been reading but it was understood to me that you could go up to 50 miles at 50mph on a runflat. I have gone 7 days on a runflat not knowing a nail was in it. I just kept filling it with air every two days. But with rim&tire insurance they just replace the whole tire for free anyway. So, I guess I'll never know if the tire was "destroyed" or not. Judging from how it handled, I'd say it was just fine. And that was after about 200 miles of city driving. I have gone through four tires and never took them in immediately. Run flats are pretty resilient. If they weren't they wouldm't be called runflats I guess.
