One thing he mentioned, was that with the Opticoating some finish waxes do not adhere very well to the coating, so if you are looking for Showroom/car show glossy finish it may not be a good fit.

You are correct. Opti-coat does provide a great shine, but there are "shinier" and "deeper" coatings. It's the price you pay for the durability. Trust me though, it looks amazing.
Other waxes and sealants don't last long at all. I top mine once in a while with carpro reload, but it's really not necessary. In fact some of them make it worse, as the car will take on properties of the topper, and not shed dirt/water as well as Opti Coat.
