I personally don't feel this car should run staggered size tires because I don't think it rotates well enough and would stick with 225 or 255's all the way around (yes you can run 255 on 8.5" according to tirerack for michelin) but 255's have more rolling resistance (marginally less MPG) and probably don't provide any more cornering performance than 225's although someone would have to test it to be absolutely sure.
