This is the right way of holding the wheel. As I understand OP wants to grab the wheel with all fingers going inside of the wheel so he grabs it around the bumps.
By the way what kind of AC unit is in the pictures. It is auto but not two zone. Does anyone has it? Is it a Eurospec thing?
