xdrive seems to be a bit controversial. Using Quattro as a yardstick, that has been portrayed for years as a huge safety innovation giving traction in snow, extreme wet and cornering I don't see why xdrive should be inferior.

Xdrive is, if anything, a more sophisticated system than quattro and the logic of four driven wheels rather than two with a computer able to move the power before traction is lost, would to me seem that it has all the benefits of quattro and more.

Admittedly I am sold on the idea. There are other factors such as tyres and ride height, but as I have previously mentioned, Quattro has been fantastic for me and speaking to people who live in more wintry conditions who say xdrive is unbeatable even on normal tyres, I think it will be huge saftey innovation that we in the UK have been deprived of for so long.

Just my opinion but think we can only say for sure when we have tried it out.
