Good advice. I've always run-in my cars over the first 1000 miles: engine and brakes especially. I usually put new oil in after the first 1500 miles.

I've never had squealing brakes or excessive (in fact nada) oil usage in any of my cars. After 2000 miles, I thrash the blighter within an inch of its life!
