I have it in my current car. I also ordered it with my F30. If you are always in city auto beam isn`t needed. If you are driving to remote areas where the roads are not lighted and you always have great chance of having a deer jump on the road, auto high beams are cool feature.
If you dont have the auto high beam you have 3 choices.
1. Leave high beams on and disturb everyone on the road
2. Leave high beams off and hit a deer
3. Keep your hand on the switch during the trip, do on/off every minute.
For sure It is not a must but I think it becomes handy sometimes.
