my friend who told me about it did it on a 320d in europe in Sport mode. I tried in sport mode and it didnt work so I am not sure if the sport mode thing is just for those in europe or for those who dont have sport+ |
Maybe that not launch control, just BMW not wanting you to dump the clutch at anything over 3500rpms to keep everything intact.
This is a tactic used on some of the AWD cars like the STI from what I remember. Certain years(maybe the EVO too), people got amazing launches, but with 6k dumps, then the OEMs made it so you could not dump the clutch so high which slowed the launch a bit.
