Good result, sounds as if by simply controlling speed and more gentle use of the throttle, you have shown what can be achieved.

I'd wager that even at your vehicle loadings and average speed, over the same trip, there will still be quite a mpg difference across drivers. Tests have shown driver variation has a big impact on mpg.
