Ah! Coolant at 100C, you are reading your righthand gauge which is oil temperature, that explains it. (Note the oil can symbol at the bottom right under the thermometer). ECT doesn't run at 100C on a diesel, around 88 - 92C is normal working range. Obviously will climb a bit on extreme load and during active DPF regeneration.
BTW, what temperature does the oil temperature gauge read, working the engine hard on a cruise?
