I have to say it made sense. If you're BMW and you claim a car model gets a certain MPG and emits a certain amount of smog, you can't then disable a system that contributes to those numbers.

I may look into get it done some other way.
Ask dealer to open the PUMA case and show you the reply from BMWNA where they are refusing to send the code.

I bet they'll somehow figure out how to get it done.
