Single car reviews are a bit of a mixed bag, I prefer the comparisons. Ive followed car and motorcycle magazines for years, and one thing I found very consistent is that pre-conceived notions play a big part when driving a car or riding a motorcycle by itself. When they compare cars back to back, and record numbers, things come a lot more into focus.

For instance they may complain about a cars steering, then when the drive it back to back with its competitor, they notice that it steers a lot better! Its the same thing with lap times and acceleration times. Sometimes a car feels like it handles great, but its actually just easy to approach its limits, where its competitor may be several seconds a lap faster but a bit unweildly at its much higher limit. Which ones handles better? Well if you take that faster car and drive it as fast as the slower one's limit, it feels like a relaxing cruise. But driven on its own, the faster car is criticized.
