How about the opposite: Every car has to have a license plate, might as well have something you like on it.
I don't see why someone would start a thread soliciting others for their opinions on what to get on a plate, but to each his/her own. Seems pretty narrowminded to project your view on others.
FWIW, my BMW and my motorcycle have vanity plates, the Miata doesn't. *shrug* Then again, they're exceedingly common here in CA, so I don't think anyone here has your bizarre viewpoint about what they say about the owner.
