Best and quickest way is for dealer to do the lot. That way you collect your new car with your plate on it. Just gone through the process with the wifes car. All went well and was painless apart from the fee the DVLA charge for transfer.

Thanks, doesn't sound too bad! Are there any potential delays with the dealer doing everything, or should the car still be ready for collection on the same day as if it had a normal reg on it?
