FWIW back when I did this for a living the usual treatment was to lightly sand the glaze off the pads. Then you can treat the pads with a BG product called "brake quiet"(I'm sure there are other brands as well). it soaks into the pads and makes them less noisy for a bit. Also clean and relube all the contact points to make sure those aren't causing the issue. Then we'd bed the pads ourselves. generally with this treatment on a non-terrible pad would fix any squeaks/groans/rattles.


on a new car, you can try to bed the brakes again, see if that will fix the problem. It may/may not. Often times it's the driver that causes the squeals. (no, not you....just all the other people who have the issue).
