I was told I could purchase extended warranty after a few years but it costs more the older the car is/more mileage it has. If you plan keep it for 6-7 years, buy it up front. If you don't think you will keep it longer than the base warranty, I wouldn't bother. And someone can correct me if I'm wrong but can't 2nd party extended warranty be bought cheaper than factory extended warranty in the US? Geico or someone like that?
