The current E90 interior is old and also the screen is to "inclosed". I don't know what kind of screen is in the E90 but the technology is much better today than some years ago, for example LED and OLED screens improves (thinner, less energy consumption and better colors, etc). Good news is that the F30 will have a Nvidia card which will enable high resolution graphics, etc according to this article:
