My experience is as follows:
2012 F30 with the following options:
- 609 - Navigation system, BMW Professional Multimedia
- 612 - BMW Assist
- 616 - BMW Assist Online Portal
- 6NL - Bluetooth telephone preparation with telematics, USB audio interface and Voice Control
For reference, the software version of my nav device is:
- Multimedia : MX-003.004.031
- Telephone : TX-003.004.031
As far as album artwork goes:
- iPod 80Gb Classic connected via (non-BMW) Y-cable. Album artwork is displayed.
- iPod 80Gb Classic connected via Apple USB cable. Album artwork is displayed.
- USB drive (Duracell 32Gb) plugged into USB socket in arm rest. Album artwork is displayed.
I don't have any music on my iPhone (4S) right now, but I'll try some bluetooth streaming later and update my results.
Note - all my mp3 files have embedded ID3v2 tags that include the album art.
