I did back up my m3 hard drive on flash drive through USB in glove box , mostly music but when trying to load it back, car won't read it? I tried to cross transfer all music to my x5 hard drive en mass but as I said it was read as data files, I was not successful to install it back?
So may be ur solution shall be helpful to me too
