The speakers by themselves will probably not make the kind of difference you want. A High End Amp has better control over even cheaper speakers. While you always risks blowing speakers, a higher end amp with room to spare does not go into clipping, which is what really destroys the speakers. I'd buy better amps before I changed speakers.
