62 mpg is good enough for me, I did have some concerns that I could be looking at low 50s economy for a 320d which I would be pretty unhappy with. I also figure that the minus temperatures and low mileage in my situation mean it's pretty much the worst case scenario and that the car will improve (though I don't expect massively).

No the 1.9 tdi VAG was a great engine, the 2.0tdi is a pile of crap. They struggle to get better than 40mpg with very careful driving, and consume a pint of oil every few thou.....the official Audi come back on the oil usage.......apparently because 138hp is a 'high performance engine'
