You can do it with an auto. Just keep it in a lower gear when you're in sport mode. 2nd is usually the gear you wan't to be in. I've drifted autos before, and you have to turn in hard and floor it to initiate a drift. Since you're not working the clutch, the only thing you have to deal with is throttle control. You won't be able to take it really wide because you'll be losing too much power to be able to sustain the drift. You can't clutch kick to keep the wheels spinning, so your best bet is to take narrow turns and try not to go too wide.

I would advise practicing in an open space away from any other vehicles or people so you can find the car's limitations as well as your own. Safety first.
