Mu uncle drove a mid-90s 528i for about a decade and it was great for him until he started to neglect it, then something happened while he was rounding a bend and his steering stopped working, he ended up in a ditch on his side and wore a neck brace for about a month....
But he seriously neglected that thing...for example someone took out his passenger mirror and the glass was exposed and he didn't address it at all...so he drove around with an exposed shard of glass as the exterior passenger mirror, lol
