The MPE will be covered under BMW warranty should anything happen to it, meanwhile the audio is a bit complex in these cars(amps and whatnot) so you lose some protection with the aftermarket nature of the BSW products.
I find the stereo adequate enough(ignore my Integral Audio setup of $5k-as it was free) but the exhaust really wakes things up.
