I think PZEV requires the longer warranty period. But indeed; the hybrid warranty is really nice and does make ownership less painful. I think the real risk of ownership is resale value if one plans on reselling in the 5yr window. At that point, I wouldn't expect the ActiveHybrid to compete well with the next gen of hybrids.
