that way when someone damages your parked car you can go after them, or a hit and run (like I had done to me), would have gotten the license plate and cops could have gone after them. a 1TB hard drive costs practically nothing compared to the cost of the cameras and nav system, put one of those in and have it set on record, battery draw couldn't be that much. overwrites every 2-3 days unless you stop it.
