Not harder to keep clean, just that the dirt will show more if you neglect your car.
Hopefully you wouldn't neglect to clean your ride no matter the color of the interior.
You should protect the leather monthly in the summer and at least every 2 months when cold out. A good leather cleaner and conditioner will keep your seats looking great. My car still looks like new, as I am a detailing nut.
