One could probably earn a PhD working to explain Americas sedan vs. wagon/hatchback mindset. I'm afraid its a terminal, cultural thing.
"It's ugly" is all it boils down to.
Everyone here feels this way until they own one, so usually forever. I never considered one until I found myself in a pinch for a DD (new sports car, winter approaching.) After living with a wagon for a short while, it was like I snapped out of some sort of brainwash trance. Now the thought of buying a sedan (or God forbid, an SUV) makes me grimace long and hard.
