I had read so many good things about this mega museum and it did not disappoint! After the Geneva Auto Show, I headed South to this museum (and to a few other museums) through the Monte Blanc tunnel. That tunnel crossing was the most I have ever paid for a toll - 43 euros one way! But, there really isn't any other way around that mountain range.
I was really impressed with this museum! I think it's worth any car lover's time if you are in the area. So many cool Italian cars on display. Something about the buildings architecture that reminded me of the BMW plant in Leipzig.
Parking was a little bit difficult - the museum did not have an (underground) garage. At least I did not see any signs for a underground garage. So I ended up parking at a public garage up the street for the local hospital visitors. Wasn't very expensive either.
The
Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile
had some really great exhibits. You be the judge. I just wish some of the cars they had covered up downstairs would have been on display as well. I guess that just gives me a reason to come back! IF you are into Italian cars... you really should visit this museum. Plus the city of Turin (Torino) was so pretty at night.
IF you have been to any of the "big" German car museums (BMW, Porsche, MB) this place is on par with them. It's a great museum.
