I did kind of the same thing on my wife's 2016 328i with N26 engine. Changed the oil at 2k mi. To get the break-in stuff out and I plan to get the next service done at the dealer at the normal service interval. I used 0W-30 BMW Castrol Professional. Haven't decided if I'm going to do supplement oil changes with the 328 as 10K is a little longer than I would like to go. I definitely won't be going that long on my 340i.
