I have a 320d Efficient Dynamics which coupled with the 8 speed automatic gearbox is just about as civilised as a diesel can be. No turbo lag that I can detect and in Comfort Mode 70mph is still well under 2000 rpm In fact it changes into top at 55 mph on a light throttle at 1600 rpm and yet in Sport mode it accelerates really well. Handling and steering are both good.
If you can, get a test drive - it was what convinced me to buy this car .
