It doesn't necessarily provide any direct benefit if your stock DV is doing its job. Some people report improved throttle response and/or lower WGDC. The basic idea is that the upgraded DV can respond quicker (throttle response) and hold boost better (WGDC) than the OEM one. Keep in mind the OEM one was really only designed to work in the 7-11 psi range and people are pushing as high as ~20 psi on stock turbo. I am still on stock DV with no issues running up to about 17psi but i may still do the turbosmart at some point and try to quantitatively test. |
