The tyres on the 330d se are pirelli run-flat on standard 17" rims, not sure what they were on the 320d but it was a sport model with 18" rims, the ride felt a lot firmer on the 320 as well, you noticed a lot more bumps on the same roads.
330d se has a very smooth and comfortable, but soft ride for a bmw 3 series.
