I prefer the look and feel of the BMW, plus the N55 can be tuned for some much bigger power than anything the others offer. That said a lot of the Cadillac slamming is incorrect. As far as reliability JD Powers shows the CTS as being very reliable, more than the 5 series it is compared to. Also resale value of the CTS and V Models is actually higher than 5 series and M5. Just look it up. That said Cadillacs just lack the feel of a German Sports Sedan, be it the 335i or the S4, but they are getting closer.
