The biggest issue is damage from front plate mounting screws on your back bumper. I think that front frame will only prevent YOU from damaging other folks cars. And it's so narrow it'll only protect you from someone who's already parallel to the curb. No help for bumps while they're parking.

In the end, who cares how your car looks whilst parked on the street. I'd prefer to protect it personally. The only issue is that you'd really need to be sure to keep the car clean so you don't scratch the paint all to hell. Although a quick polish to fix scratches and scuffs is a lot easier than continunous resprays.
