On my previous e36 m3 with obd1 conversion which I did back in 2003 again I had no issues with cells whether I was straight piped or not. Turbo kit on it, again no issues.
Obviously these cars have got more complex today but there should be no reason a car can't run smooth just because weather changed outside. Sure it takes work to get it right, but just living with it should not be an option.
