The fine scratches you see come on the wood trim too, you just dont notice them as much because of the underlying wood grain.

My last 335 had aluminum.. harder to scratch, yes, but once it does there is no fix.
But very difficult not to make it worse. And putting a coating on won't protect it from something a little more severe than a soft brush or a micro-fibre.
