Can someone please tell me what makes an all wheel drive, diesel station wagon be the flagship model of anything? Isn't the flagship supposed to be the car that sets the tone and direction for a given car/fleet? Perhaps the German's lack of a keen naval tradition caused them to not really understand what a flagship actually is? (Remember Hitler who tried to put a fleet of three capital ships up against the Royal Navy?)
I mean, you can make a 6er cost more than a 7er, but that doesn't make the 6 the flagship of the BMW brand of cars.
