Actually I think this illustrates just how far BMW has gone away from their original DNA in order to reach a broader market... I'll bet that winning this designation from CR was never an internal BMW goal in the past, but that it made the list of goals for the F30... |
Agreed. I like the F30 for a number of reasons, but after driving it as a loaner for 2 weeks, I was happy to get my E90 back. My wife put it best - the F30 just felt a little bland, a little too polished, like a Lexus. I think BMW set out with the goal of making the F30 palatable to a wider audience, and this CR win is just icing on that cake. It's a great car and deserves the win though. I mean, if you're going to pander to the masses, you should at least do it right, and they nailed it.
