Funny thing happens to these people who take discussion forum mythology too far:
They buy the last year of an old bodystyle to feel the love of the community, and then six months later they go
"Oh shit, why did I buy an old car? I've got to get out of this somehow."
And they dump the car, take a loss, and buy the new bodystyle. Can't tell you how many holier-than-thou E46 types did this, put down the new E90, hated on the thing mercilessly, wound up dumping their months-old cars to buy new ones just like the rest of us.
