Would going to 245/40/18 on the stock front wheel work?
Is the front wheel not wide enough for a 245 and cause the tire to "pinch"?

According to TireRack, the Conti tire specs I'm looking at show that a 245/40 would fit an 8" to 9.5" wheel width. The 335i front OEM wheel is 8" wide.

Info and/or experience would be helpful and appreciated. Thanks.
You could put a 245 on the stock 8" rim, but that's right at the limit - it might look a little rounded off, but not a lot more than the stock 255 on 8.5" rims in the back on a stock staggered setup (2.7 mm more "pinched")

I've got the stock 18" sport square rims (style 397 8" front and back) - maybe I'll just try shoeing them with 245/40 non-run-flat rubber and see how that goes

Might buy you some rim protection from scuffing as well
