As for the owner of this car, it is an issue of priorities as well. I own my BMWs because they are driver's cars. I could give a crap if there is some superficial rust under the seat. I spend my time sitting on the seat looking down the road.
sure, but if you get a brand new car and it has rust on it, how much trust do you have in the quality build overall? I think is it major factor. With this stunt BWM lost lot more than just one spray painted car. It exposed the quality of the built. IMHO, they lose.
