Setting aside my problems with noisy dampers, the non-adaptive setup does't handle and feel like a true beemer to me. Very nice, but not enough control when pushed.

Each to his own, but the passive setup left me with just too much roll and vertical movement in bends to get any real confidence and joy. Now and then I really like to drive the car and the adaptive is magic when driven in earnest. It's also superb at 5 tenths: there is just so much more precision and feedback.

If I was being really fussy, I'd like a touch more control and roll resistance when pressing on, but the 330d is all about being a great all-round machine. The adaptive makes it so much better on that brief - a touch more comfortable than passive M Sport in Comfort and much better controlled in Sport.

Guess it's all down to how you drive and what floats your boat :-)
