Therein lies the reason why BMW struggles to bring a full range of the touring line to the US - perceptions as to what wagons are and should be in the US versus Europe and other places. Outside the US many consider the Touring or Avant, in Audi's case, to be a sporting alternate rather than just a utilitarian vehicle - eg, the next RS4 comes in Avant only; no sedan.
To my eye this looks great, and a 330d M Sport in Tanzanite blue with Individual Cashmere interior, adaptive m suspension may be my next car!
