A true engineering masterpiece.

After owning a Subaru WRX for 6 years and 140,000 miles, I swore I would never own another turbo car- not that I had problems with it, as a matter of fact it was a fun car with tons of utility from daily duty, to autocross and getting groceries- yes a wagon. With a big catted downpipe and cobb stage 2 the car ripped... but I hated the throttle modulation- the lag both stepping on and letting off the gas.

I finally sampled a 328i.... throttle response is 90% that of my n52, and a ton more torque. Smooth too, for a 4 cyl which is inherently unbalanced. Just a great motor.

It will be neat to see if they finally figured out how to get past the issues related to direct injection and carbon build up.

Even neater would be if an M version of this motor finds its way into the M2... same as the days of the e30 with a 2.5 6 in the 325i and of course the 4 cyl in the M3.
