Question from US where we still get the old Nav.
How long does it take for the new Nav/iDrive to boot when starting car cold? Meaning from when you start car to when the functions are usable? The old system can sometimes take 10+ seconds which is annoying as I wait for the backup sensors to display on screen.
If I stop for a short time the iDrive seems to boot quickly (3 seconds or so). Its when the car sits for hours that I get the 10 seconds of "BMW" on the iDrive screen.
Good write up, OP. Hope you get those brakes sorted. My US spec MSport brakes (which means Sport brakes with Euro dusty/dirty pads) seem to bite and respond just fine. Pedal feel is typical and comparable to my now retired E90 MSport.
