Tried pushing the dash in various places and bashing it! Does not change it one bit.

I am having the same problem, centre dash rattle, seems to be from the centre speaker on the dash, it's more prevalent at warmer ambient temperatures. I too have HK sound system.
I've had worse rattles in cars, but then again I did expect a little better from a BMW.
Out of interest, do you have HUD?
