For the other models (like the E92/E93, 5 series, X3, X5, whatever) it is reasonable since those are going into production in just a couple weeks. But F30 production for US spec cars doesn't even start until March of next year or so. By the time any F30s make there way to the dealership lots in the US (assuming that the late spring date being quoted for that is correct), MY2012 production will almost be over with. It is going to be strange for folks walking into the dealerships in May/June shortly after the launch. I imagine they will be told that if they order a car then, they will actually get a MY 2013 and that no ordering/pricing/revision information is available yet.
To my understanding, the launch will be in March sometime, meaning that at that time, we will be allowed to retail units to customers. But youre right, it will be a short MY12
