Actually you can find many BMW parts cheaper than for other brands. As long as you negotiate labor prices with independent shops outside warranty and don't just go to the nearest dealership, the running costs are quite low. If you do some of the easy stuff on your own, like changing spark plugs, oil, air filter, cabin filter, brake pads, the costs are even lower. This car is not made to break after warranty, like other brands. I am 1 and a half years past warranty and I didn't need to do anything to the car, other than modding it (knock on wood)
