Because BMW knows they already messed up its M Heritage with the softer new models They can't mess up the legacy of the M3, so they decide to make it a "different" car so it can't be directly compared. If they were building the best M3 of all time from a driver's standpoint (something that would only receive praise from around here), they wouldn't semi abandon the M3 badge.
However, the car is gorgeous. The rear reminds me of the old 8's
